About Our Audio
and GCSEPod icon art...
In the early stages of creating GCSEPod, we knew we had to ensure our product was something which students wanted to listen to, and that parents and teachers would be happy with too.
We talked to over 500 students to help us understand what was needed and what would represent something unique from anything else on the market.
The message was simple: make it short, punchy, fact-filled, relevant and interesting. We combined this with the accepted educational theory that when people hear things three times, they have a greater chance of remembering the information.
So, we arrived at the structure of our GCSEPods :
- Title
- Introduction
- Chapters (3 to 5 minutes each)
- Summary
- Recommended Weblinks – for further research and learning
- Original music throughout
We have been careful to record each narrator in the best sound environment available. Even down to the pauses you hear, everything we do is carefully thought-out to make our podcasts as enjoyable and informative as possible.
But that's only part of the story – we soon realised there was more we could do to develop our GCSEPods. We had the audio sorted; now it was time to add a whole new element – images. Each title is approached individually; unique text reminders for keywords, facts or quotations are created to appear alongside the audio. Additional pictorial images are devised, and then designed by an in-house artist to further enhance the learning experience of GCSEPod.
We hope you enjoy listening to GCSEPod
