Romeo and Juliet: Characters
Subjects / English / William Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet
In this title we will be looking at the characters in Romeo and Juliet. As it is a play about young love, many of the characters are young and Shakespeare shows us the strengths and weaknesses of youth. He shows us passion and impatience. He shows us loyalty and a sense of honour that is sometimes misguided. He presents us with love and hate. Shakespeare also makes it clear that the older characters do not have all of the answers. They also make mistakes and their errors of judgement make a significant contribution to the tragedy.
