MEDC governments are able to import a large percentage of the foods and products they need from other countries. However, there are still many farmers in MEDCs all around the world, and their actions have had a serious impact upon the environment. There is a danger of repeating this environmental damage in LEDCs. The technologies and farming methods that MEDCs have invented have been sold to LEDCs, in an effort to maximise their production and quality of life. But with a lower level of development, these modern farming methods may do more harm than good. This title will examine how farmers operate in MEDCs, the factors effecting farming and the impact of modern farming methods upon people, the environment and the economy.
