Germany During the Second World War
Subjects / History / Germany, 1918 to 1991
After the Nazis had taken control of Germany, they wanted to expand outwards. This title examines the causes of the Second World War and the reasons for the ultimate defeat of Nazi Germany. The first chapter gives an overview of the long and short-term causes for the war. The following chapters discuss the impact of the war on international relations and on the German people. The key event of the invasion of Russia is the focus for the fourth chapter. We then move back to Germany and the lands it controlled, for a discussion of the 'Final Solution' and the effect of the Allied bombing campaign. The last two chapters in the title discuss the reasons for Germany's defeat and the uncertainty the Nazis faced in the last months of the war.
