The End of World War One and its Aftermath

Subjects / History / World War One

Price: £2.95 Duration: 21mins Full topic price: £9.95

By 1917 the countries involved in the First World War were still engaged in a costly war of attrition, as each side continued to try and wear the other down. Offensive campaigns were matched by counter-offensives, with little advance or progress made by either side. Minor victories on the battle front could not be consolidated due to the strong fortifications used to enhance defensive positions across the Western Front. Any attempt to break the stalemate seemed impossible as both sides struggled to win a decisive battle and change the course of the war. However, in 1917 a series of events away from the horrors of the Western Front led to the eventual defeat of Germany and its allies.

Reviews

I really like History and found the First World War very interesting. I really liked the voice of the actor and the music breaks stopped me from dozing off. I think that parents would buy the titles or topics to help their children get better exam results.

My granddad bought the First World War topic for my Christmas present and I thought that it would be boring but the whole topic has turned out to be very helpful for my work. The chapters in this title cover all those things that my teacher covered in class. No regrets and can I please have something for Maths. Thanks.
