Unit 1: Skills for Business

This unit will help you achieve a pass, merit or distinction for the Skills for Business section of Unit 1 of the new specification. You'll be asked to write about safe working practice applied in the business environment. You'll have to explain some working practices when using ICT in a business environment and give examples. Your explanations should include the potential danger that each measure is designed to address. The depth of your explanations should reflect whether you're aiming for a pass, merit or distinction. You'll have to include measures to protect health, measures to protect physical safety, measures to protect files from loss and measures to protect files from unauthorised access in your evidence. For a distinction, you also need to include guidance on choosing a strong password.
