In the same way that people mark key events occurring in their own lives, following a calendar from January to December, so the Church follows a Liturgical Calendar which begins with the season of Advent. This is the time that Christians prepare for the coming of Jesus, looking forward to the celebration of his birth. This title will study the major Christian festivals, from Advent, Christmas and Epiphany, to Lent, Easter and Pentecost. It will also consider the significance of these festivals, and will describe how they are celebrated by Christians.
